With a mission to demonstrate leadership in the provision of efficient, effective services to support the information resource, computing, and communications requirements of the Ryerson community, the Department of Computing and Communication Services is currently seeking a Manager, Network & IT Security.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Communications Infrastructure, the Manager ensures Ryerson’s complex set of network and security systems/services meet the current and future needs of the their community. Supervising a team of networking and IT security professionals, the Manager provides leadership in the technology planning of IP network, Internet and IT Security, and manages and oversees all projects while monitoring the performance of network and IT security systems across the University.
As an ideal candidate for this position, you possess a minimum of five years experience managing a large, complex network and IT Security Infrastructure operation, combined with at least two years of experience in Project Management. You bring demonstrable expertise managing the design and implementation of IT Security technologies and wide/local area networks to required service levels, as well as deep knowledge of IP based, Wi-Fi and data centre networks that will ensure the strategic and cost effective evolution of Ryerson’s systems in response to client need and technological advancement. Creative, collaborative and highly client-centric, your excellent interpersonal skills allow you to build strong relationships with diverse audiences. You are an experienced people leader and team builder with an inclusive and communicative style and your depth of knowledge, technical proficiency and analytical skill will allow you to effectively lead an established team of networking and IT security professionals. A post-secondary degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecom Engineering or a related field is required.
